Prosecutor General of Ukraine

Andriy Kostin was born in 1973 in Odesa. He is honored lawyer of Ukraine, a member of Ukrainian Parliament, and a former member of the party “Servant of the people”. He has a law degree from Odesa State University. Since 2000 he has been a member of International Bar Association and between 2013-2015 a member of its governing body – the IBA Council. Between 2012-2019 he served as the Deputy Head of the Bar Council of Odesa Region and between 2020-2022 as the Head of the Legal Policy Committee of the Ukrainian Parliament. During the work in this Committee, Mr. Kostin took active part in drafting laws regarding the judicial reform. He was also the Head of the Subcommittee responsible for the Implementation of the Decisions of the European Court of Human Rights as well as a member of the Ukrainian Delegation to the Trilateral Contact Group at the negotiations with Russian Federation in Istanbul, Turkey. In August 2022, Andriy Kostin was titled as “Honored Lawyer of Ukraine” for the significant professional achievement and years of ethical work. Since July 28, 2022, has been serving as the Prosecutor General of Ukraine and since August 4, 2022, as a member of National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine. He speaks Ukrainian, English, Russian.
