Dinand Drankier is deputy head of unit in the DG Climate and Energy Policy of the Dutch Ministry of Economic Affairs and Climate Policy. Dinand has worked on a range of topics related to furthering and speeding up the energy transition, increasing security of supply and guaranteeing affordable energy. Since 2022, Dinand is in charge of the Dutch Biomethane Policy Program, and co-chair in the Biomethane Industrial Partnership – a public-private initiative connecting the European Commission, member states and the European biomethane industry. Prior to joining the Ministry, Dinand worked as a researcher and lecturer at the Groningen Centre of Energy Law. Dinand has studied in the Netherlands, Russia and China. He obtained a BA in International Relations and a LL.M in Energy and Climate Law from the University of Groningen (NL).
