Dr Michal Palkovič is a Slovak Pathologist and a University Professor.
From March 2023, he served as the State Secretary in charge of the Ministry of Health until he has been appointed the Minister of Health in May 2023.
He has held various executive positions at the Health Care Surveillance Authority of the Slovak Republic, including the position of the Vice-Chairman of the Health Care Surveillance Authority.
He is an author of autopsy performance digitalization and the eAutopsy module. He was closely engaged in the Autopsy Examination Performance Reform. During the COVID-19 pandemic, he was a member of the National Clinical Crisis Team in the field of Anatomical Pathology and Forensic Medicine.
In 2007, he represented the Slovak Republic in the implementation of deaths certification principles at the EU level.
