Policy Fellow, European Leadership Network and Wilson Center Global Fellow

Katarina Kertysova is a Policy Fellow at the European Leadership Network (ELN) in London, Global Fellow at the Polar and Kennan Institutes of the Woodrow Wilson Center and Research Associate with the Climate Change and (In)Security Project – a collaboration between the University of Oxford and British Army’s Centre for Historical Analysis and Conflict Research (CHACR). Her research focuses on NATO, military innovation and decarbonization, Arctic geopolitics and the climate-security nexus. Katarina holds a degree in International Relations and French from the University of St Andrews, after which she pursued security studies at Sciences Po Paris and the Moscow State Institute of International Relations (MGIMO).

Her previous research experience includes work conducted for the UNDP, the Carnegie Moscow Centre, the GLOBSEC Policy Institute, the Clingendael International Energy Programme (CIEP), and The Hague Centre for Strategic Studies (HCSS). As a member of the NATO 2030 Young Leaders Group, Katarina contributed to the NATO 2030 Reflection Process in the areas of climate and Arctic security.
