Executive Director, Stockholm Environment Institute

Måns Nilsson currently serves as Executive Director of the Stockholm Environment Institute (SEI). He leads and delegates all work at the institute, with over 300 staff and 7 centres around the world. Research interests include policy coherence, institutions and governance, transitions in energy, industry and transport, and development policy. He is a regular advisor to the UN, OECD, the European Commission and the Government of Sweden. Måns has slipped more than 60 papers past unsuspecting editors of academic journals and has edited two books. He is listed as Web of Science “Highly Cited Researcher”. He received his MSc from University of Lund, Sweden, and his PhD degree from Delft University of Technology, Netherlands. He is a member of the Royal Swedish Academy of Agriculture and Forestry, and serves on the Board of Directors of Sveaskog AB, Blekinge Institute of Technology (BTH) and IVL Svenska Miljöinstitutet AB.
