Program Manager, Carnegie Europe

Ricardo Farinha is a Program Manager in the Democracy, Conflict, and Governance Program at Carnegie Europe in Brussels. Prior to joining Carnegie, he supported the sub-Saharan Africa portfolio at the European Union Institute for Security Studies and the Portuguese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the latter during the 2021 Portuguese Presidency of the Council of the European Union. Additionally, Ricardo has interned at the European Commission and worked for an international development consultancy. He holds a BA in European Studies (University of Lisbon) and an MA in International Relations (Jacobs University & University of Bremen). Amongst his achievements, Ricardo won a co-authored Best Paper Award for Junior Researchers at the Annual BAGSS Conference 2016 and was selected to take part in the Fulbright/U.S. Department of State 2011 Summer Institute for European Student Leaders
