Technology Policy Fellow, The United States House Committee on Foreign Affairs

Zeena is a molecular biologist turned policy researcher who is focused on examining the security nexus of emerging (bio)technologies and the great power competition between the US and China. Zeena is currently a Technology Policy Fellow with the US House Foreign Affairs Committee where her portfolio encompasses export controls, international security, and China-related policy making across the Department of Defence, the Department of State, and the Department of Commerce. Zeena obtained her bachelor’s degree in Molecular, Cellular, and Developmental Biology from the University of Colorado and her master’s degree in Global Affairs from Tsinghua University in Beijing. Zeena was a Fulbright fellow in Kyrgyzstan from 2019 – 2020 and a Schwarzman Scholar from 2020 – 2021.
